ORTOP & Project LEDO
ORTOP mission is to open doors to the worlds of science, technology, engineering and mathematics for Oregon’s youth by providing educational opportunities featuring robotics with special emphasis on maximizing the diversity of those participating. Project LEDO is grateful for the support that ORTOP has giving us to continue our Lego Robotics Program.
The Oregon Robotics Tournament and Outreach Program (ORTOP) is recognized as Oregon’s longest running continuum of K-12th grade STEM focused, robotics programs. ORTOP is a trusted non-profit, with more than 18 years of experience implementing and showing successful impact over all FIRST programs in Oregon. To accomplish its statewide non-profit mission, ORTOP partners with FIRST, an internationally recognized educational foundation as it distributes coach, teacher, and team training programs, hosts tournaments and provides funding support to the most disadvantaged and under-resourced communities and need. These programs are FIRST LEGO League, FIRST Tech Challenge, and FIRST Robotics Competition. In order for a team to register for any local event, they must be registered nationally with FIRST.
Governed by an Oregon based Board of Directors and staff, ORTOP is a 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation.
